It has been almost 3 weeks since I took part in the Skinny Tweed, there's 9 weeks until The Tour O' The Borders and I've got 4 weeks until the summer holidays start at the beginning of July. I need to start training.
This is what I need to do by the end of July if I want to ride 74 miles in the Tour....
Cycle 50 miles by the end of June.
Cycle 60 miles by the end of July.
Ride as many hills as I can including (Talla at least once).
Turbo 2 or 3 times a week.
Ride on the road once a week.
It's going to be a bit of a struggle to fit in the training during the summer holidays but Fi and I have decided to set 2 dates in June and July when we get the long rides in together, we will need each other to motivate ourselves. I probably don't need to do as much as 60 miles but I will feel happier if I do. It'll be hard in the summer holidays to get out together as much so we will have to do what we can on our own.
I am feeling slightly worried about what is ahead of me right now but I'm telling myself that it's 3 long rides, that's it. I can do that can't I?
Any advice on getting through this will be gratefully received!
Cycling up hills makes me smile!
